Position Summary:
Extreme Endeavors is seeking a hands-on Automation Technician to support the design, assembly, installation, and commissioning of automation and SCADA systems for municipal water and wastewater facilities. This role combines fieldwork and in-house technical assembly, requiring a highly organized, mechanically inclined, and self-motivated individual who enjoys both building systems in the lab and deploying them in the field.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working at pump stations, treatment plants, and remote facilities, as well as fabricating, wiring, and testing control panels and devices in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, wire, and test control panels, IoT systems, and instrumentation in the lab
  • Install automation equipment at water and wastewater facilities, including pumps, valves, sensors, radios, and telemetry devices
  • Configure and troubleshoot  SCADA hardware, and communications networks
  • Perform system startup, commissioning, and functional testing
  • Maintain organized documentation, labeling, and build standards
  • Plan and stage materials and equipment for projects
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and control system issues in the field
  • Work independently or as part of a small project team
  • Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards

Required Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or experience in electrical, electronics, automation, or related field
  • Experience with control panel wiring and electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SCADA systems, or industrial controls
  • Knowledge of pumps, motors, and water/wastewater operations
  • Networking or radio/telemetry experience
  • Field service or commissioning experience

Work Environment:
  • Combination of lab/shop assembly and field installation
  • Travel to project sites as required
  • Occasional lifting, climbing, and working in industrial environments
