Extreme Endeavors

IoT Automation Technician

Philippi, West VirginiaFull-time
About the Job
BUILD TECHNOLOGY THAT MATTERS:
Extreme Endeavors designs and installs innovative IoT, automation and SCADA systems for water and wastewater utilities throughout West Virginia and beyond. Our technology helps communities monitor critical infrastructure, identify problems faster and operate their water systems more efficiently.

We're looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined problem solver who enjoys building things, working with technology and seeing a project through from the shop to the field. You'll help assemble and wire control panels and automation systems in our shop, then install, test and troubleshoot those systems at water and wastewater facilities throughout West Virginia.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
In the Shop:
  • Assemble, wire and test control panels, IoT systems and instrumentation.
  • Prepare, label and organize equipment and materials for projects.
  • Configure and test automation and communications equipment.
  • Maintain organized documentation and build standards.

In the Field:
  • Install automation equipment, pumps, valves, sensors, radios and telemetry devices.
  • Configure and troubleshoot SCADA hardware and communications networks.
  • Perform system startup, commissioning and functional testing.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and control-system problems.
  • Work independently or as part of a small project team.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout West Virginia.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We're looking for the right person, not someone who checks every box. You may have a background in electrical work, electronics, automation, industrial controls, construction or another technical field. Experience with SCADA, pumps, motors, networking or telemetry is a plus, but we're willing to train someone with the right aptitude and attitude.

You'll need to be:
  • Comfortable with tools, technology and hands-on work.
  • Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Able to troubleshoot problems and learn new systems.
  • Organized, dependable and able to work independently.
  • Willing to work outdoors and in industrial environments.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Licensed to drive with a valid driver's license.

WHERE THIS JOB CAN TAKE YOU:
This position is designed for someone who wants to build technical skills and take on greater responsibility. As you gain experience, you'll have opportunities to become more involved in system commissioning, troubleshooting, project work and advanced automation technologies.

You'll receive hands-on experience with IoT, automation and SCADA systems while working on projects that modernize critical water infrastructure.

WHAT EXTREME ENDEAVORS OFFERS:
  • Competitive pay based on experience.
  • Paid training and professional development.
  • Opportunities to grow your technical skills and responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with IoT, automation and SCADA technology.
  • A small-team environment where your work has a real impact.
  • The opportunity to do work that directly benefits communities.

READY TO BUILD SOMETHING?
You don't have to know everything on day one. We want someone who's capable, curious and ready to learn. If you like building things, solving problems, working with your hands and seeing your work make a difference, we'd like to hear from you.
